  1. Dedication, Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Franklin Road Bridge

    The City of Roanoke will hold a ribbon-cutting/dedication ceremony for the new Franklin Road Bridge. The event will take place at the southern end of the bridge. Public art will also be part of the new bridge, with works created by artist Tucker Mara displayed on the columns of the bridge to communicate the rich history of the Old Southwest neighborhood. Each panel focuses on a specific architectural design element and tells a story.

  2. Dedication Ceremony for ‘Global Harmony’ Public Art Sculpture

    The City of Roanoke will dedicate a new sculpture in Entranceway Park at the corner of Williamson Road and Wells Avenue. “Global Harmony” by Stephen Fairfield of St. David, Ariz., also celebrates Ten Years of Public Art in the City of Roanoke. The dedication of “Global Harmony” will end a year-long commemoration organized by the Roanoke Arts Commission. A selection panel of artists, Roanoke Arts Commission Members, neighborhood representatives, business owners, and citizens selected Mr. Fairfield to create the work from among 38 applicants.
