Roanoke Tax Deadlines

  1. Personal Property Tax Due

    May 31, 2018, All Day @ Treasurer's Office

Personal Property Statements are mailed to citizens in April of each year and are due on May 31 unless the due date falls on a weekend or a holiday; then the due date is the next business day. A vehicle license tax is imposed on all motor vehicles that are titled with the Division of Motor Vehicles and garaged in the City of Roanoke. Failure to pay the Personal Property taxes by the due date will cause accounts to become delinquent. It is the responsibility of citizens to notify the city of any personal property changes. Contact the Commissioner of the Revenue's Office, at 540 853-2521 to notify them of address changes, purchase of new or used vehicles and sold vehicles. Visit and click on Personal Property Tax Relief for qualification information.
