The Clerk of the Circuit Court’s office has made the following changes to improve its services to citizens, as well as enhance the operation of Circuit Courtrooms.
Presently, citizens who are selected for jury service receive a questionnaire from the Clerk of the Circuit Court, designed to provide litigants with the information the law allows. To ease the return of this information, starting on March 1, 2019, all questionnaires will be pre-stamped so that there will be no additional cost to citizens to return the questionnaire.
The Clerk of the Circuit Court is always assessing ways in which to help the court system operate in the best and most efficient manner possible. With this in mind, the Clerk’s office recently equipped each Circuit Courtroom with high-definition TV screens (monitors) and associated hardware, to allow for the presentation of electronic evidence in a variety of ways. They also equipped every courtroom with a wireless sound system designed to assist hearing-impaired visitors.
If you have questions about these improvements or would like to learn more about the Clerk’s office, please contact them at 540-853-6700 between 8:15 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., Monday-Friday, or send an email to Brenda Hamilton, Clerk of the Circuit Court, at [email protected].
