The following is an update on Roanoke City Council members' plans to participate in a 10-Minute Walk to a park for the first national “Walk to a Park Day” on Wednesday, Oct. 10:
- Mayor Lea and City Council Member Anita Price will walk the greenway at Countryside Park, starting at the Countryside Shelter at 1 p.m.
- Vice-Mayor Joe Cobb will walk the greenway from Vic Thomas Park through Wasena Park, starting at the Wasena Park Bridge by the parking lot at 9 a.m.
- Council Member Djuna Osborne will walk the Lick Run Greenway through Washington Park at 10 a.m.
Citizens are encouraged to participate by joining the Mayor, Vice-Mayor, and City Council Members as they take a 10-Minute Walk to a park, or by walking to a park on their own.
