Roanoke, VA – For the first time, the City of Roanoke and local partners are hosting a series of free community events to participate in Welcoming America’s national Welcoming Week campaign between Sept. 14 and Sept. 23.
Hundreds of communities across the United States participate in Welcoming Week each year by hosting events that bring together immigrants, refugees, and native-born residents to promote the benefits of being inclusive and welcoming to everyone.
Roanoke community members can participate and show support for the campaign by attending an event, by posting an “I’m a Welcomer” poster in their window or storefront, or by wearing an “I’m a Welcomer” button. Posters and buttons are available for pick-up in the City Manager’s Office.
