Registration for the 8th Annual 2018 Green Academy Fall Session is now open. This popular free educational series begins on Sept. 13 and runs on Thursday evenings through Oct. 11. Each meeting begins with a light meal followed by presentations from local subject matter experts who will discuss a variety of green initiatives in the Roanoke Valley. Participants will learn about energy efficiency, renewable energy, alternative transportation, water and air quality, local food, recycling, and more.
Four of the sessions will take place in Fishburn Elementary School’s library. The meeting on Oct. 4 will be held off-site. During the final session, participants will gather for a celebratory dinner and graduation ceremony. Space is limited and classes fill up quickly each year, so early registration is strongly encouraged.
