[ARCHIVED] People’s Choice Recipients Announced for Inlet Art Project

Roanoke, VA – Almost 3,500 citizens voted on Facebook and in person at the Grandin Road Earth Day Celebration to select the Inlet Art Project artists and their work to receive the People's Choice Awards:

  • First Place and $200 goes to Ned Savage for Downstream Dependents
  • Second Place and $100 goes to Tyla Maiden for Only Rain Down the Drain

The City of Roanoke's Stormwater Utility and the Roanoke Arts Commission collaborated on the project seeks to transform six storm drains around the city into works of art while also sending the message that whatever goes into the storm drains ends up directly in our creeks, streams, and the Roanoke River.

The public is invited to join in. The event is scheduled for May 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. More information is found at https://www.facebook.com/events/179539112838845/.
