Roanoke, VA – The public is invited to attend the Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the Williamson Road Branch Library, which will be held on Monday, Nov. 13, at 9:30 a.m. Numerous programs are planned through November and December as part of the opening celebration, including a Taco and Salsa community celebration program Monday night 6 p.m., and a discussion with 2016 Newbery Medal Award winner and NY Times best-selling author Matt de la Pena on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m.
This facility has been expanded from 6,080 square feet to 10,346 square feet, plus the addition of an enclosed patio. New features of the library branch include a children’s area, a meeting room that can be used by the community outside of library hours, three study rooms, and a dedicated teen area. Also the parking area has been expanded and there is a convenient book drop-off outside of the library.
