Roanoke, VA – Mayor Sherman Lea has called a Special Meeting of the Roanoke City Council for Thursday, May 25, at 6 p.m., to conduct a “Neighborhood Solidarity Walk” to promote neighborhood safety. The walk will begin at the intersection of 5th Street and Moorman Road NW, and conclude in the parking area adjacent to Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home, located at 1002 Moorman Rd. NW. By conducting this walk, City Council members want to communicate to citizens that they care about whether they feel safe in their community, and to assure them their concerns about public safety are being addressed by the city.
