[ARCHIVED] Be Prepared for Possible Flooding

Roanoke, VA- There is a possibility that the Roanoke Valley could see significant flooding in the next few days. We want you to be prepared should you or your family be impacted by the flooding. Remember: 1. Make an emergency communication & family reunification plan. 2. Sign up for the City of Roanoke Reverse 911 so you can be alerted to hazardous situations. You can sign up at www.roanokeva.gov. 3. Never drive through flooded roadways - turn around, don't drown! 4. Keep children out of the water. They are curious and often lack judgment about running or contaminated water. 5. Be prepared to evacuate at a moments notice. 6. Stay alert and vigilant and keep up to date with local media outlets.
