Roanoke, VA - Moderate flooding of the Roanoke River is expected to occur based on current rainfall amounts but based on historical data, no homes or businesses will be affected. The National Weather Service is expecting a crest of approximately 14ft. Be vigilant, keep an eye on water levels, never drive through flooded roadways and stay tuned to local media for the latest information in order to keep you and your family safe. Earlier today, Roanoke Fire-EMS' Swift Water Rescue Team helped two adults and a dog to safety from their home as flood waters were encroaching on their front porch. As of 5pm on September 29, 2015 the current roads are closed:

-Crestmoor SW at both sides of Cravens Creek, SW
