Roanoke Street Closing Updates

[ARCHIVED] Downtown – Weekend Street Closure Update

ROANOKE, VA – The following streets will be closed due to various events occurring December 9th to December 10th 2016:

Dickens of a Christmas

On Friday, the following streets will be closed from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM:

  • Market Street, between Salem Avenue and Church Avenue
  • Wall Street, between Salem Avenue and Campbell Avenue
  • Church Avenue, between Williamson Road and Jefferson Street.
  • Kirk Avenue, between Jefferson Street and Market Street
  • Salem Avenue, between Jefferson Street and Williamson Road

From 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM:

  • Campbell Avenue, between Williamson Road and the entrance of the Center in the Square Garage
  • Luck Avenue, between Jefferson Street and 1ST Street SW

City of Roanoke Christmas Parade

On Friday, the following streets will be closed from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

  • Jefferson Street, between Campbell Avenue and Maple Avenue
  • Campbell Avenue, between 1st Street SW and Williamson Road
  • From 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Williamson Road southbound, between Salem Avenue and Church Avenue

Roanoke Jingle Bell Run/Walk

On Saturday, the following streets will be closed from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM

  • Jefferson Street, between Franklin Road and Elm Avenue
  • Jefferson Street southbound, along with all crossing streets, between Elm Avenue and McClanahan Street
  • McClanahan Street westbound, between Jefferson Street and Crystal Springs Avenue


Due to these events, on-street parking may be temporarily restricted. Center in the Square Garage will not be accessible between 6:30PM - 8:00PM.

Valley Metro buses will run on their usual schedules. Trip planning on Valley Metro buses is available via Google Transit at www.valleymetro.com

No detours will be established

    

Signs & Barricades:

The City of Roanoke will furnish all barricades, signs, cones, etc.
