Roanoke, VA – The Economic Development Departments of the City of Roanoke, Roanoke County, and the Town of Vinton are collaborating with the Virginia Small Business Development Center in Roanoke to bring a seminar to area retailers on holiday sales strategies. The goal of the 90-minute seminar is to share ideas to help small business owners have a profitable holiday season in the months ahead. The seminar, "7 Simple Strategies to go from Bah Humbug to BOOM," will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Vinton War Memorial, located at 814 E. Washington St. in Downtown Vinton.
Topics covered in the seminar will include 1) ways to educate the community on the benefits of shopping local, holiday hours and holiday happenings, 2) how to create a holiday marketing strategy, 3) how to dress up windows with the holiday look, 4) merchandising for the holidays, 5) customer service tips,
6) ways to market the retailer’s particular brand, and 7) how to personalize the shopper's experience.
The seminar is free; however, registration is required by visiting www.roanokesmallbusiness.com and selecting the event titled “Bah Humbug to BOOM.”
“This seminar is designed to help area retailers through the busy hustle and bustle of the holidays. It includes important tools to assist in a profitable holiday outcome,” states Bart Smith, Director of the Roanoke Small Business Development Center. “We are excited to assist with ideas to help them be successful.”
The economic development departments and Virginia Small Business Development Center act as liaisons to forge partnerships between business and government in the City of Roanoke, Roanoke County, and the Town of Vinton. The organizations work collaboratively to offer training sessions to assist business owners, local entrepreneurs, and prospective business owners.
