Roanoke, VA - Work on the rehabilitation of Orange Avenue (Route 460) over the Tinker Creek bridge structure (located at the intersection of Orange Avenue and 13th Street, NE) is expected to begin on Oct. 3. The project involves the removal of the asphalt overlay, deck repairs, drainage improvements, construction of a latex modified concrete overlay, and associated work. Due to the high volume of traffic along this corridor, work on the bridge will be limited to a weekend work window of Fridays at 8 p.m. to Mondays at 6 a.m. During the work window, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction. The traveling public is encouraged to find alternate routes during the weekends. Outside of the work window, all lanes on the bridge will be opened. The project is expected to be completed by Dec. 3.
