Roanoke, VA – Golden Park will host the first Parks and Arts event of 2016. The event will take place this Saturday, June 25, from noon to 3 p.m. in the park, located at Carlisle Ave. between Spruce St. and 16th St. Performing artists will include The Moyer Brothers, Opera Roanoke, Mill Mountain Theatre, and Southwest Virginia Ballet. Visual artists will include Art is Happening: Hat and Prop Making by the Taubman Museum and Katherine Devine (face painting).
All Parks and Arts events are FREE and provide venues for a wide variety of local and regional artists, dancers, and musicians to showcase their talents. With a focus on community settings, these events meld the outdoors with the arts, engage residents in art, and promote neighborhoods' diverse cultural and historic resources.
