Roanoke, VA - Celebrate an evening of red, white and boom with the City of Roanoke’s annual fireworks show at River’s Edge Sports Complex on July 4 beginning at 9:30 p.m. This year’s fireworks show is presented by the City of Roanoke, The Roanoke Times, WFXR, and Downtown Roanoke, Inc.
Before the fireworks, enjoy patriotic music from Winds of the Blue Ridge starting at 8 p.m.
With the road closures of Wiley Drive and Reserve Avenue for the event, spectators are encouraged to take advantage of parking lot shuttles that will depart from the Elmwood Park Garage located on Williamson Road in downtown Roanoke and Virginia Western Community College beginning at 7:30 p.m. Those planning to park at Virginia Western should park in the lot closest to Colonial Avenue and McNeil Drive.
Fireworks will launch from the Reserve Avenue side of the park, and viewing of this year’s show will take place on the Wiley Drive ball fields at River’s Edge Sports Complex. All spectators are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Food trucks will also be on-site.
