Roanoke Street Closing Updates

[ARCHIVED] Downtown – Weekend Street Closure Update

ROANOKE, VA – There will be several street closures due to various events occurring Friday May 20th through Saturday, May 21st.

First & 3rd Fridays on Franklin:
- On Friday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM Franklin Street will be closed, between Jefferson Street and Williamson Rd

Over the Edge:
- On Friday from 8:00 AM to Saturday at 5:00 PM Bullitt Avenue will be closed just west of Jefferson Street along the Patrick Henry Building

Local Colors Festival:
- Saturday from 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM Franklin Rd will be closed between Jefferson St and Williamson Rd.

Fork in the Market Street Party:
- Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 AM Market Street between Campbell Avenue and Salem Avenue.

Virginia Blue Ridge Twilight Criterium :
The following streets will be closed on Saturday from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM:
- 3rd Street - From Campbell Avenue to Franklin Road
- 2nd Street - From Campbell Avenue to Franklin Road
- 1st Street - From Kirk Avenue to Franklin Road
- Jefferson Street - From Kirk Avenue to Franklin Road
- Luck Avenue - From Jefferson Street to 3rd Street
- Franklin Road - From Jefferson Street to 1st Street
- Church Avenue – From Century Plaza to 1st Street and from 2nd Street to 3rd Street
- Also please note that Church Avenue from 1st Street to 2nd Street will be closed starting at 2:00 PM.

Night Riders Ball at Martin’s Downtown:
- Saturday from 5:30 PM to 12:00 AM 1st Street between Church Avenue and Luck Avenue.

Gainsboro Block Party:
- Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Patton Avenue will close between Jefferson Street and Gainsboro Road and Old Gainsboro Road.


Access to all parking garages will remain accessible.

Valley Metro buses will run on their usual schedules. Trip planning on Valley Metro buses is available via Google Transit at www.valleymetro.com

No detours will be established

Signs & Barricades:
The City of Roanoke will furnish all barricades, signs, cones, etc.
