Roanoke, VA – A Community Stakeholders Meeting will be held on Friday, May 6, 2 p.m., in Roanoke City Council Chambers at the Noel C. Taylor Municipal Building, 215 Church Ave. SW. Secretary of the Commonwealth Kelly Thomasson will share information about Governor Terry McAuliffe’s recent executive order restoring voting rights. Also in attendance will be Senator John Edwards, Delegate Sam Rasoul, and Roanoke City Councilman Sherman Lea. The meeting will be sponsored by Brown Virginia.
Governor McAuliffe’s executive order restores the rights to all individuals who, as of April 22, 2016, have completed the terms of incarceration and have completed any period of supervised release (probation or parole) for any and all felony convictions. The public is invited to attend this meeting to learn more about this executive order.
