Roanoke, VA – The city has been notified that the Mason Mill Road area of northeast has several trees down with live power lines in them. AEP has been notified, but has not been able to provide an estimated time as to when the lines will be cleared so the trees can be removed. Currently, barricades have been placed at Mason Mill Road between Hollins Road and 13th Street NE. In addition, 13th Street at North Avenue NE has been barricaded.
Barricades are in place because the conditions of the roadway and surrounding areas are not safe for drivers to pass through. Drivers are urged to refrain from driving through the barricades in an attempt to get to Hollins Road.
