[ARCHIVED] Roanoke Solid Waste Management Delays

With temperatures projected to be above 90 degrees today and throughout the entire summer months,  Roanoke Solid Waste Management staff are encouraged to stay hydrated and take additional breaks to reduce the likelihood of heat related illness or injuries. As a result, customers may experience delays in regularly scheduled collection service during days of excessive heat. Be assured that collection services will be completed as soon as possible.
Customers are encouraged to leave their trash and recycling carts at the appropriate set out location until serviced. Solid Waste Inspectors will not cite residents whose carts remain at the curb but were not collected as scheduled. Please remove your carts from set out locations after serviced.
Southwest Roanoke will experience delays today in some capacity. The Solid Waste Management team will work to catch up on delays tomorrow, Friday, June 17th.
For additional information or to report a solid waste service related issue please call 540-853-2000, Option 1 or visit us at
