ROANOKE, VA – Starting on Monday January 25, through Friday January 29, 2016, there will be lane closures beginning at 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Riverland Road SE between Piedmont St SE and Garden City Blvd SE. Appalachian Power Company, AEP will be working on updating power lines, resulting in alternating lane closures on eastbound and westbound sections of Riverland Road SE. One lane on either side of Riverland Road will remain open with traffic control crews directing traffic through the sections of lane closures. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use an alternate route if possible. Traffic control will also be directing traffic along the following streets approaching Riverland Road:
- Walnut Avenue between Walnut Ave Bridge and Laurel Street
- Halminton Terrace between Piedmont Street and Walnut Street
- Belleview Avenue between Laurel Street and Walnut Street
- Laurel Street between Walnut Street and Arbutus Avenue
- Primrose Street between Riverland Road and Arbutus Avenue
- 9th Street between Riverland Road and River Avenue
Detour - Alternate Routes: A detour will not be established
