Roanoke Public Library Advisory Board to Hold Monthly Meeting in January


THURSDAY, JANUARY 21, 2021, 8:30 A.M.


AMENDMENT 28 TO HB 29 (STATE BUDGET,CHAPTER 1283, LAWS OF 2020, SECTION 401.01 (g), SECTION 2.2-3708.2 (A), CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950), 


ORDINANCE NO 1703-032720; AND RESOLUTION NO 41704-032720

Public participation by electronic communication means

The Roanoke Public Library Advisory Board as appointed by Roanoke City Council, will hold the regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Members of the Roanoke Public Library Advisory Board will participate through electronic communication means as permitted by Amendment 28 to HB 29 (State Budget, Chapter 1283, Laws of 2020, Section 4-0.01(g)), Virginia Code Section 2.2-3708.2 (A) and Virginia Code Section 15.2-1413.

Based on the declarations of emergency made by the President of the United States, the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the Roanoke City Manager, the emergency created the COVID-19 pandemic disaster makes it unsafe and unhealthy for the public to attend this special meeting in person. In addition, the City Manager has closed all Library branches to the public, effective as of March 18, 2020. Pursuant to Ordinance No. 41703-032720, adopted by Roanoke City Council on March 27, 2020, the public may participate at this meeting and obtain an agenda for this meeting by contacting Geraldine Jones at 540-853-2475 or via email at [email protected] to obtain information for electronic access to this meeting and the agenda.
