Investiture ceremonies for Roanoke’s new City Council members were held this week at the Oliver W. Hill Justice Center. While the ceremonies were closed to the general public due to COVID-19 restrictions, they were shown live on the City of Roanoke’s Facebook Page and can be seen by using this link. In addition, Roanoke Valley Television recorded the ceremonies for playback on Cox Channel 3.
The ceremonies were held as follows:
- The Honorable Sherman P. Lea, Sr., Mayor – Thursday, Dec. 3, 3 p.m.
- The Honorable Stephanie Moon Reynolds, Council Member-Elect – Thursday, Dec. 3, 4:30 p.m.
- The Honorable Robert L. Jeffrey, Jr., Council Member-Elect – Friday, Dec. 4, 3 p.m.
- The Honorable Patricia White-Boyd, Vice-Mayor-Elect – Friday, Dec. 4, 4 p.m.
The first meeting of the new City Council will take place on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, in the Council Chamber on the fourth floor of the Noel C. Taylor Municipal Building, located at 215 Church Ave. SW.
