CALEA logo1

The City of Roanoke E-911 Center is scheduled for a virtual on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve reaccreditation by verifying our professional standards. The Public Safety Communications Accreditation Program (PSCAP) is administered by the Commission of Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. The program requires agencies comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

As part of the on-site assessment, employees of the City of Roanoke E-911 Center, members of the community, Fire-EMS, and Law Enforcement agencies are invited to offer comments by calling 540-853-5485 on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The Assessment Team assigned to Roanoke’s agency will be taking telephone comments during those hours.

Telephone comments are limited to five minutes and must address the ability of the City of Roanoke E-911 Center to comply with the CALEA standards. For information about the re-accreditation process, please contact Accreditation Manager, Ashley Shepherd, at (540) 853-5278.

Written comments regarding the City of Roanoke E-911 Center’s ability to comply with the standards for reaccreditation may be sent to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc. (CALEA), 13757 Heathcote Blvd., Suite 320, Gainesville, VA 20155.
