Ten amazing years after its renovation, the City of Roanoke will refresh the amenities available at the Gainsboro Branch Library. Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 15, curbside service will cease and the bookdrop will close at the Gainsboro Branch so that work can begin.
Improvements to this branch will include:
- New paint, carpet, blinds, and shelves throughout the branch;
- New books and materials;
- A redesigned children and teen areas, with new furniture and fun features;
- A refreshed community room and Virginia Y Lee Room with new tables and chairs;
- New technology; and
- Patio furniture.
Customers may go to all other City library branch locations between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday-Friday, for curbside services including material hold pickups, copying and faxing, as well as Feed and Read and kit-based programs.
The City anticipates the renovation to be complete by early 2021.
