The National Weather Service has forecasted snowfall for the Roanoke area on Tuesday, Jan. 7, with the possibility of 1 to 3 inches. If snow accumulates on streets, the City will respond with snow removal activities. The first priority will be to clear major streets and Valley Metro bus routes. Once those areas have been cleared, work will transition into neighborhood streets.
Residents are encouraged to avoid travel during winter weather events unless it is absolutely necessary to be on the road.
The city will use its website and MyRoanoke email notification system to share updates on its response to winter weather events, as well as Facebook and Twitter.
