The 2019 Annual Roanoke Neighborhoods' Harvesting of the Fruits Potluck Dinner and Awards Celebration will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, at the Jefferson Center's Fitzpatrick Hall (541 Luck Ave.) beginning at 6 p.m. Sponsored by the Office of Neighborhood Services and Roanoke Neighborhood Advocates, in partnership with Roanoke City Council, this annual potluck dinner provides an opportunity for neighbors from across the city to come together to share great home-cooked food, complemented by great fellowship.
During the dinner, members of Roanoke City Council and the Roanoke Neighborhood Advocates will present the 2019 Neighborhood Partnership Awards. There are eight categories from which the awards are granted, ranging from Youth Volunteer Award to Neighborhood Arts. The awards are based on nominations made from individuals and groups within all of the neighborhoods in the City. You can learn more about how to submit a nomination here. The deadline to submit a nomination is Oct. 18.
The event is free and everyone is invited to attend. However, each participant is asked to bring a special dish to share with eight to 10 other participants, and confirm their attendance by registering (to ensure enough seats and tables are set up for everyone). To register online click here and select the “Register Today” link, or you may call the Office of Neighborhood Services at 540-853-1647 to register.
