Shoutout to Roanoke Stormwater Crews

The Stormwater Utility was created to address water quality in the City of Roanoke.  Everyday activities such as walking the dog, fertilizing the lawn, driving cars and exposing bare soil can generate pollution. These pollutants wash into the stormdrain system and flow untreated into the nearest creek, ultimately reaching the Roanoke River. It is our goal to work together with citizens to improve the City of Roanoke's waterways so that they can be community assets for many years to come.  Together, we can create a clean water legacy! Many thanks to our hardworking crews for taking care of our stormwater infrastructure! #keepitclear #onlyraindownthedrain

Community Circles Next Meeting July 28, 2022

Come out to the community healing circle series. These gatherings will be held monthly. The community healing circle is part of Native American tradition used to bring the community together for healing and communion. It is used to reduce health care costs by providing other alternative options to improve mental health. Community Circles bring people together from all ages to teach culture and the importance of healing trauma. Community Circles provide the perfect model for listening, settling disputes, and resolving conflict. Community Circles offer peace of mind and create an environment where people from the community can talk about their concerns and issues in a supportive atmosphere.

The discussion topic will be men's health. Research shows that men are 70% less likely to seek medical assistance than women. We will be discussing physical, mental, and emotional health. The goal is to discuss holistic health principles that encourage and empower men to be more health conscious.

Plant-based vegan food and light refreshments will be provided.
