City of Roanoke Christmas Parade Happens Tonight
At 6:30 p.m. tonight (Dec. 10), the City of Roanoke Christmas Parade will begin on Jefferson Street at Elm Avenue, turning onto Campbell Avenue, going past Market Square, and ending at Williamson Road. The parade is part of Dickens of a Christmas, an annual holiday celebration organized by Downtown Roanoke Inc. on the first three Friday nights of December every year in Roanoke. City Accepting Registrations for Spring 2022 Leadership College

If your answer is “yes” to any of these questions, then consider participating in the City’s Spring 2022 Leadership College, a nine-week community leadership program designed to increase the level of effective communication between City government and residents. Parks and Recreation to Offer Free Basketball Tournament, DJ Battle on January 29
Roanoke Parks and Recreation (PLAY Roanoke) is offering two free events on Jan. 29: A 3 vs. 3 Basketball Tournament at the Berglund Center, followed by a Battle of the DJs after party at the Eureka Recreation Center. These events are free to the community to participate in and attend, and they are part of the Star City Safe Initiative to offer expanded services and access to public facilities to keep our youth and neighborhoods safe through programming and engagement. City Opens Online Applications for ARPA Funding
Online grant applications are now open for the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. Individuals, families, nonprofits, mental health service providers, substance abuse treatment, small businesses, and arts and cultural organizations may apply through the City of Roanoke. Learn more here.
