City to Observe National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
The City of Roanoke will celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, April 11-17, 2021, to honor the men and women who serve as public safety communications officers in its E-911 Center. Roanoke Partners with Local Agencies to Bring Awareness to Child Abuse Prevention Month
The City of Roanoke’s Human/Social Services Department is partnering with Children's Trust, Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare, Total Action for Progress (TAP), Prevent Child Abuse Virginia, and the Virginia Coalition for Child Abuse Prevention to create awareness that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Budget Committee Provides Update to Council, Citizens
The City's Budget Committee presented an update on April 5, during City Council briefings. Staff provided a general overview on FY21, as well as a preliminary overview of FY22 operating budgets. They also highlighted potential fee and tax updates for FY22. In addition, the presentation included discussion of the American Rescue Plan and sought approval to alter the budget adoption calendar.
