Roanoke Announces 2021 Neighborhood Partnership Awards Winners

At the April 5, 2021 City Council meeting, City officials recognized the winners of the 2021 Neighborhood Partnership Awards Program, honoring the outstanding contributions, excellence, and accomplishments achieved by neighborhood organizations and civic individuals who have partnered with City departments, schools, nonprofits, businesses, institutions, and others. City to Observe National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week 

The City of Roanoke will celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, April 11-17, 2021, to honor the men and women who serve as public safety communications officers in its E-911 Center.  The City will recognize its dispatchers with various forms of appreciation throughout the entire week. Roanoke Partners with Local Agencies to Bring Awareness to Child Abuse Prevention Month

The City of Roanoke’s Human/Social Services Department is partnering with Children's Trust, Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare, Total Action for Progress (TAP), Prevent Child Abuse Virginia, and the Virginia Coalition for Child Abuse Prevention to create awareness that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Budget Committee Provides Update to Council, Citizens

The City's Budget Committee presented an update on April 5, during City Council briefings. Staff provided a general overview on FY21, as well as a preliminary overview of FY22 operating budgets. They also highlighted potential fee and tax updates for FY22.  In addition, the presentation included discussion of the American Rescue Plan and sought approval to alter the budget adoption calendar.
