City of Roanoke to Host 'Roanoke Valley Saves Week'
During the week of Feb. 22–26, the City of Roanoke is encouraging the Roanoke Valley community to participate in "Roanoke Valley Saves Week." Bank On Roanoke Valley will be offering area residents resources and support with educational tools, free online programs, and financial incentives. City Opens Online Applications for CARES Act Funding
Online applications are now open for the next round of CARES Act funding in 2021, through the City’s Community Development Block Grant Program. Funds may be used to address homelessness, human services, or economic development initiatives directly associated with the prevention, preparation and response to the COVID-19 pandemic. City Launches Crystal Spring E-Branch Library
In case you missed it, on Feb. 8 the City of Roanoke held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Crystal Spring E-Branch Library. Located at 229 Crystal Spring Ave., the E-Branch is Roanoke's first 24-hour, 7-day-a-week library. It was only in recent years that innovative technology brought the option for this neighborhood branch: The LibDispenser. This revolutionary device, created by MK Solutions, a company based out of Germany, is the first of its kind anywhere in Virginia. Below is a photo of the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Read more about the
