City of Roanoke Provides Response to Recent Increase in Gun Violence

City Council Invites Nominations for 2020 Citizen of the Year

Roanoke City Council invites nominations for the 2020 Citizen of the Year. Information describing the criteria and nomination form are available on the City’s website and in the City Clerk’s Office, Room 456, Noel C. Taylor Municipal Building, 215 Church Ave. SW, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.  More information is available here. 

City to Resume Parking Enforcement

Enforcement of on-street parking regulations will resume for City streets beginning Monday, Oct. 19. In addition, the Center in the Square and Tower parking garages will return to normal operating hours and fee schedules on Monday, Oct. 19. Click here to learn more. 


HUD Awards $3.7 Million to Protect Roanoke Residents from Lead, Other Home Health and Safety Hazards

Last week, U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator Joseph J. DeFelice announced that $3,718,733 has been awarded to the City of Roanoke, Virginia to protect children and families from lead-based paint and home health hazards. The funding, which will support the City’s Lead Safe Roanoke Program, is part of nearly $165 million awarded nationwide to 44 state and local government agencies in 23 states.  More information is available here.
