City Offices to Close for Christmas, New Year’s Holidays

City offices will be closed for the Christmas holiday on Wednesday, Dec. 25, and for the New Year’s holiday on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020.  The City of Roanoke wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season!

Solid Waste Collection Schedule Changes

Dickens of a Christmas Concludes Tonight

On Dec. 20, the final night of Dickens of Christmas, you’re invited to come downtown and enjoy the Roanoke Valley SPCA Pet Costume Contest and, new this year, Coca Cola's Mini Carnival. The evening begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.  More information can be found here.

Still Time to Register for Roanoke 100 Miler

In January, Roanoke Parks and Recreation will conduct the Roanoke 100 Miler, an annual program in which participants commit to tracking their activity levels every day for 100 days, with the goal of reaching 100 miles or the equivalent of 50 hours of exercise. Lime Suspends Operations Until Spring

The City of Roanoke was recently notified that Lime will suspend operations with dockless scooters in the City until spring 2020. Robert Gardner with Lime Government Relations explained this is a seasonal business and assured the City they plan to bring the scooters back in 2020.
