In November, Roanoke Valley Libraries will switch to a new online catalog called "Wise". We're excited about offering an improved user experience!

What will change during the transition (Nov 4-11)?

From November 4-11, we will "pause" our current system so we can get everything moved over to our new catalog.

  1. You can still look up items in the current online catalog, but you won't be able to request items, edit your account info or make any changes.
  2. You can still check out items, but they won't show up in your account until everything is transferred to the new system (hopefully on November 9th).
  3. Please keep library materials until November 11th. If you return items during the transition period, they'll be set aside and checked in after the new system is ready. Remember, there are no overdue fines, so no penalty if items are late! No materials will be due during the transition period.

Will my current information transfer over?

All checkouts, holds, fees, and other transactional information will transfer over to the new system automatically

The Roanoke Public Libraries will enhance the quality of life and promote the well being of the community by creating a climate of lifelong learning and community enrichment. Engage. Educate. Empower. The possibilities are endless.
