E-911 Center
The City of Roanoke E-911 Center serves as the critical link between our citizens and public safety providers.
We are dedicated to supporting all public safety departments in their quest of protecting life, saving property and assisting the public.
The E-911 Center:
- Receives and dispatches all 911 calls for service originating within the City of Roanoke, answers non-emergency calls for service, and handles all radio communications from Police, Fire, and EMS personnel
- Coordinates with other jurisdictions on significant events that may affect the city, its citizens, and its interests
- Handles emergency calls for the Child Abuse Hotline, Public Works and numerous other city departments
Language Assistance
If you do not speak, read, or write English well, the City will provide an interpreter at no cost to you! This is available for all services and programs the City offers. For language assistance, please call 540-853-2000 and press 2.
*Please note - if you have an emergency, you may still dial 911 directly, A Communications Officer will connect you with an interpreter.
