Household Hazardous Waste Disposal

Leftover household products that can catch fire, react, or explode under certain circumstances, or that are corrosive or toxic, are considered household hazardous waste (HHW) and must be properly disposed of. Residents of the City of Roanoke can safely dispose of their HHW for FREE by visiting the following website:

You can bring aerosol paint cans, latex paint, lead acid automobile batteries, used antifreeze, used motor oil during normal operating hours (Mondays-Fridays, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and Saturdays 8 a.m.-1 p.m.)

A much wider array of HHW items can be disposed of on the 3rd Sat of each month at special YOU MUST PREREGISTER WITH RVRA FOR THESE SPECIAL EVENTS
