Roanoke Fire-EMS Stations
Roanoke Fire-EMS has 11 stations that are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Stop by and visit our firefighters!

HTR & Swift Water Rescue Teams
Roanoke Fire-EMS serves as the Division 6 Heavy Tactical Rescue Team as well as the Division 6 Swift Water Rescue Team. This team performs rescues involving collapse, high angle rope rescue, confined space as well as water rescues.

HAZMAT Team
The Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Team, established in 1981 is 1 of 13 regional teams in Virginia, comprised of 36 Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) trained responders with equipment and training to handle chemical/biological hazards. As a regional team, the response area includes the City of Roanoke, as well as from Lexington to Henry County (north/south) and Bedford County, Virginia to Wythe County (east/west), and all areas in-between. The HazMat Team is proud of its heritage and response history and is continually striving to provide the highest professional response to the Roanoke Valley.
