DEI Training

The City of Roanoke is committed to ensuring that our employees receive high quality training on many topics.  Some of these trainings are required, and some are optional as employees want to enhance their skills or pursue supervisory positions.

All employees are required to complete two series that specifically focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion and psychological safety.  The series include the following sessions:

Diversity and Inclusion Series

  • Diversity: Beyond Race, Age, and Gender
  • Introduction to Inclusion
  • Implicit Bias: Mine, Yours, and Ours
  • OUCH! That Stereotype Hurts

Psychological Safety Series

  • Inclusion Safety
  • Learner Safety
  • Contributor Safety
  • Challenger Safety
