The City of Roanoke is committed to ensuring that our employees receive high quality training on many topics. Some of these trainings are required, and some are optional as employees want to enhance their skills or pursue supervisory positions.
All employees are required to complete two series that specifically focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion and psychological safety. The series include the following sessions:

The BRIDGE Council plans quarterly forums, an annual conference, and monthly lunch-and-learn sessions to expand employees' knowledge of DEI issues and to operationalize the use of these skillsets in their daily work.
