Project Construction Start: Fall 2020 Completion Date: Spring 2021
Project Estimate: $681,937 (This project does not use funds from VA DEQ Stormwater Local Assistance Fund)
Contractor: Wetland Studies and Solutions and Shenandoah Stream works
The goal of the Lick Run stream restoration at the Roanoke Regional Airport, is to improve water quality by reducing excessive sediment caused by erosion. Stabilizing channel banks, improving in-stream habitat, and enhancing floodplain capacity, are the primary ways the project will reduce erosion. Engaging in stream bank restorations throughout the City's tributary watersheds will help achieve the sediment waste load allocations under the TMDL requirements as required by the City's MS4 stormwater permit.
