On May 14, 1981, the Belmont Neighborhood Watch Group recognized that persons from other areas of Southeast wished to become members of the organization. In keeping with this expanded neighborhood area, the Belmont Neighborhood Watch Group, Inc., by formal action of the membership, authorized the Executive members of the organization to incorporate a new organization to reflect this expanded neighborhood area.
In January, 1986, the Southeast Action Forum, Inc. was incorporated to represent the neighborhoods of Belmont, Fallon, Waverly, and Morningside. This new organization, the Southeast Action Forum, Inc., has carried on the business and purpose of the Belmont Neighborhood Watch Group from this date. The SEAF now works with almost all the neighborhoods of southeast Roanoke and two adjacent neighborhoods of Roanoke County.
