Stream Restorations

Together, we can transform our waterways into community assets, focal points, and a source of pride for those that live, work, learn, and play in the Upper Roanoke River Watershed.

Stream restorations are projects that restore ecosystem services to a stream that has been determined to be degraded. These important ecosystem services could include flood control, erosion reduction, pollution filtration, and wildlife habitat, as well as others.

Stream restorations are just one method used by the Stormwater Utility to improve our waterways throughout the City. Each restoration project is different, with different needs and goals of each stream section.
