Roanoke Planning Academy

This program begins with a history of city planning with discussions centered on the development patterns that have created the framework of our present community and the forces that will influence our future.   Sessions give citizens the opportunity to participate in discussions about how city planning helps to shape our community and the importance citizen engagement plays in the planning process. Although the program seeks to engage residents about city planning, it is not intended to address the City's position on any particular topic or project.

The first academy was held in March/April 2017.  We anticipate this will be an annual offering so keep an eye out for future sessions.

If you have an interest in city planning, join our Roanoke Planning Academy group on Facebook.  Participation in the Planning Academy is not required to join the group.
