Virginia Electronic Judicial Filing System (VJEFS)
Overview
The Clerk of the Circuit Court is pleased to announce that effective May 7, 2015, the Roanoke City Circuit Court has the ability to accept CIVIL actions by way of the Virginia Judiciary E-Filing System (VJEFS).
VJEFS is a comprehensive E-Filing system developed by the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia. It has been created to integrate with the Circuit Court clerks' office existing Case Management, Case Imaging, and Financial Management Systems.
How to get started
In order to use the E-Filing system you must be an attorney licensed to practice in the State of Virginia. This system is only available to attorneys and their firms.
Fill out an Attorney Registration Application. Once completed you may mail or fax the application to the Clerk's office.
There is no fee for this service.

Things to Remember when using VJEFS:
Roanoke City Circuit Court requires a cover sheet for filing all civil actions. This is accessible through the e-filing site when filing a new case.
Every time a submission to VJEFS is made, you will be required to create a PDF attachment and title that document. Please be advised that Roanoke City Court prefers that EACH document should have its own separate PDF file. For example, an e-filing submission to the court with a Cover Letter, Complaint, and Addendum should be submitted as three separate PDFs: One for the Cover Letter, one for the Complaint, and one for the Addendum.
Make sure to choose the correct jurisdiction when initiating a new case. Be careful as this court is listed as ROANOKE CITY
If you should have any questions at all with regard to this new system, please feel free to call 540-853-6702 and contact Holly Paige, Deputy Clerk or Becky Collier, Civil Supervisor and they will be happy to assist you in anyway that they can.
