Tax Payments
Call 1-855-977-0866, 24 hours a day, to pay real estate or personal property taxes.
Credit and debit card payments for personal property and real estate taxes may be made by calling 1-855-977-0866. A convenience fee of 2.5% per transaction for credit card transactions (with a $1.95 minimum transaction), a flat $4.00 for debit card transactions, or a $1.50 for e-checks will be charged by the provider of online payment platform. The City of Roanoke does NOT receive any of these fees. Payment services on this site offer a convenient and secure option to pay your taxes. The tax balances on the online search system may not reflect adjustments or payments that are in transit.
The system will prompt you for the information it needs to process your payment. Be sure to write down the confirmation number the system provides in case there are questions about your payment.
Parking Citations
For parking citations, please call PARK Roanoke at 888-272-9829 use Jurisdiction Code 6246. A convenience fee applies to these services.
NOTE: Real Estate Tax amounts for the 1st and 2nd Installments (Due October 5, 2023 and April 5, 2024, respectively) have been updated to the payment portal.

Payments may be mailed to City Treasurer, P. O. Box 1451, Roanoke, VA 24007-1451. Please be sure to include the bill, ticket, invoice, or account number you are paying and write that number in the memo field on your check. Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee in accordance with state law. For your protection, please do not mail cash.
Parking Citations can be mailed to PARK Roanoke, 117 Church Avenue, Southwest, Roanoke, VA 24011.
You can pay by cash, check, money order or credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover only, with a 2.45% convenience fee) at the City Treasurer's Office in Room 254 on the 2nd floor of the Noel C. Taylor Municipal Building at 215 Church Avenue in downtown Roanoke. Entering the building through the glass doors on Church Avenue, the City Treasurer's Office is immediately to the right. Payments are accepted in person Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except city holidays. Please make checks payable to: Treasurer, City of Roanoke. Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee in accordance with state law. To avoid long lines near payment deadlines, consider paying by one of the other methods above.
You can drop a payment by check or money order in the City of Roanoke payment drop box in front of the Municipal Building at 215 Church Avenue, Southwest. Payments deposited in the drop box after 12:00 midnight of the due date will be assessed the late penalty.
Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee in accordance with state law. For your protection, please do not leave cash. No postage is required to use the payment drop box.

Real Estate Taxes are due on April 5 and October 5. Personal Property Taxes are due May 31.
***If the due date for real estate or personal property taxes falls on a holiday or a weekend, they are due on the following business day.
Please note that some financial institutions do not allow debits from savings accounts. Check with your financial institution to verify your account information is correct and electronic debits are allowed to avoid the $35.00 returned check fee.
***Note: If using Autofill in any browser, disable it in settings before entering your information.
Turning Off Autofill in Chrome:
- Click the Chrome menu icon. (Three dots at the top right of the screen.)
- Click on Settings.
- In the "Autofill" section, expand the area for which you wish to disable Autofill.
- Toggle the setting OFF if it is on. The system will automatically save your settings.
