The Green Academy 

The Green Academy has been temporarily suspended due to COVID. We hope to restart the academy in 2023.


The Green Academy is a 5-week course for local residents to learn about the sustainability initiatives happening in Roanoke and a variety of environmental topics such as: renewable energy; energy and water efficiency, alternative transportation, recycling, local food and more! It is also a great way to connect with other people in the area who are interested in making their community a greener and more sustainable place to live. 

So far we have held nine Green Academies with the most recent in 2019. We hope to restart the academy in the spring or fall of 2023. If you are interested in attending the academy please check back again soon!
