Applications for December 14, 2020, Public Hearing:

The Planning Commission of the City of Roanoke is scheduled to meet on Monday, December 14, 2020, at 1:30 p.m.

This meeting will be conducted by electronic communication means due to the COVID-19 pandemic disaster.  The Planning Commission will meet without a quorum physically present in one location and City staff will coordinate this public hearing remotely.  The meeting will be streamed on Facebook Live.

Citizens may register to speak at the meeting by emailing by 12 noon on Friday, December 11, 2020.  Citizens who register to speak will receive information to connect to this public meeting and present their views to the Planning Commission by electronic communication means.

Citizens may also submit comments to the Secretary to the Planning Commission by calling (540)853-1730 or by emailing on or prior to Friday, December 11, 2020, at 12 noon.

The Planning Commission advises and assists City Council in promoting the orderly development of the City.
The commission develops the plans and ordinances to guide future growth and serves as a sounding board for City Council in matters
related to development issues.

The commission reviews and makes recommendations to City Council on proposed amendments to the City's land development
regulations (rezonings and zoning text amendments), street and alley closure requests and short- and long-range plans.
