ROANOKE

We believe:

a designated, predictable funding source for our stormwater needs is now critical. We can no longer depend on short-term solutions to a long-term problem.

What is Stormwater?

The harmful impact of stormwater runoff can include:

  • Standing water causing road hazards and damage to homes and businesses
  • Increased pollutants carried to streams and harming fish and vegetation
  • Erosion of streambanks
  • Sedimentation (soil, clay, sand and silt) in our rivers and streams that can kill fish and harm beneficial underwater vegetation
  •
The City of Roanoke is concerned with both the QUALITY and QUANTITY of stormwater runoff as both are critical aspects to the challenge of stormwater management.
