| What is Stormwater? |

| The City of Roanoke has 13 major rivers and streams running through it and nine of these are listed as impaired for water quality by the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). Our current management approach of dealing with just the most critical issues each year may not allow Roanoke to meet minimum water quality standards. Investment needs to be made in capital improvements, system maintenance, and regulatory compliance to ensure that environmental standards are met. |
