The Planning section's duties include:

Develop and monitor implementation of Roanoke’s long-range comprehensive plan.

Develop neighborhood and area plans.

Provide staff to the Planning Commission, Architectural Review Board, and the Board of Zoning Appeals.

Administer the zoning ordinance, subdivision ordinance, and other regulations relating to land development.

Operate the Development Assistance Center (DAC) – a one-stop-shop for all development review and permitting. Download Applications, Agreements, Bonds and Schedule of Fees.

Old Southwest Neighborhood Plan Update: First Public Workshop was held on May 15

The Draft Residential Pattern Book and Complete Streets Policy, and updates of the Greenway and Bikeway Plans .

The bylaws of the Architectural Review Board have been updated. ARB MEETINGS NOW BEGIN AT 5:00 p.m.

The South Roanoke Neighborhood Plan was adopted by City Council in a public hearing on February 19.
