The Planning section's duties include:
  • Develop and monitor implementation of Roanoke’s long-range comprehensive plan.
  • Develop neighborhood and area plans.
  • Provide staff to the Planning Commission, Architectural Review Board, and the Board of Zoning Appeals.
  • Administer the zoning ordinance, subdivision ordinance, and other regulations relating to land development.
  • Operate the Development Assistance Center (DAC) – a one-stop-shop for all development review and permitting. Download Applications, Agreements, Bonds and Schedule of Fees.








  
Old Southwest Neighborhood Plan Update: First Public Workshop was held on May 15


The Draft Residential Pattern Book and Complete Streets Policy, and updates of the Greenway and Bikeway Plans .

The bylaws of the Architectural Review Board have been updated. ARB MEETINGS NOW BEGIN AT 5:00 p.m.

The South Roanoke Neighborhood Plan was adopted by City Council in a public hearing on February 19.
