| City to Hold Information Meetings on Proposed Storm Water Utility |
September 9, 2009
| ROANOKE, VA – On July 20, 2009, Roanoke City Council authorized city staff to move forward with plans for a proposed storm water utility. As part of that process, information meetings will be scheduled with neighborhood and business groups over the next month to discuss the proposed utility and associated capital projects. Two public information meetings have been scheduled at the Roanoke Civic Center – one on Wednesday, Sept. 16, and the second on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Both meetings will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall. At the meetings, city staff will provide a general overview of the proposed storm water utility and related capital improvement projects, and answer citizens’ questions. If your club, neighborhood group, or organization would like to schedule a presentation, please contact Phil Schirmer, City Engineer, at 853-1292. |
