"In celebration of Literacy Month and Welcoming Week, join Roanoke Public Libraries and Blue Ridge Literacy at the Williamson Road Branch Library for our first ever Adult Multilingual Spelling Bee Competition!
Teams of three will compete in a spelling bee for the ages, as competitors take the challenge for an awesome grand prize, and title of Spelling Bee champions. Interested in participating? Join Delegate Sam Rasoul and representatives from Senator Tim Kaine's office on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 6:30 for a free potluck dinner and community discussion. This is an opportunity for immigrants and refugees to connect with local and State leaders, ask questions about open cases, and discuss any challenges that they may face in a safe and supportive environment. Attendees are encouraged to bring a potluck dish, but it is not required.
The event is taking place at the Williamson Road Library Branch, located at 3837 Williamson Rd. NW.
